I’ve been involved with the art of music for over 10 years now, primarily in the capacity as a Worship Leader in the church.
Although tempted many times, and encouraged even more, I’ve never actually taken time to write my own songs and actually record them. Or maybe I should say, taken the time to “finish” my own songs (my hard drive has a folder called “My Songs,” and over the past decade I have compiled about 30 half-written songs…)
Don Miller, in his newest book “A Million Miles in a Thousand Years,” says that characters in stories do not change on their own. Rather, he says, it takes an “inciting” incident that essentially forces the character to change.
Africa is my inciting incident… and my wife is it’s helper.
After facing a large gap in money I HAD raised versus the amount I was SUPPOSED to raise, my wife says to me, “you should record a CD and sell it to help raise money.”
It was either that or send out 50 more letters to even more obscure friends and family.
So, with the encouragement of my wife, I set out to polish off a few “nearly finished” songs, and wrote two more brand new ones.
The legend that is Mike Eldred (Fender Guitars) was kind enough to invite me into his studio for a weekend to record these four songs. And further thanks to Vanessa, Janice, John and Brian for adding your talents.

Thank you for your support of me and my ministry!
